This is yet another common question we receive from individuals who are thinking about applying for Singapore PR. As applying for PR is a big step for an individual or family, it is natural that they seek advice and information pertaining success rates of applicants – usually those from the same nationality or origin. And more often than not, they always hear the same rants like a broken radio – ‘My application got Rejected!’
So, are Singapore PRs still being issued out?
As we have been repeatedly sharing with all our clients, the Singapore Government, since 2009, has been issuing out an average of 30,000 PRs and about 20,000 Citizenships annually. To kerb with the low citizen birth rates and ageing population, the numbers must be kept at these levels to ensure a stable cap of PRs and Citizens to drive the sustainability and growth of the country.
Having said that, in comparison to pre-2009 immigration policies, the review process by ICA is more stringent now so as to find the right fit for each application. At IASG, we have successfully helped individuals and families from countries such as India, China, Philippines, U.S.A, South America, Australia, Malaysia, Japan and Korea amongst many others. This is due to our intimate knowledge of Singapore’s immigration policies and insights on selection criteria such as Preferred Demographics, Industries and many more.
So why are my friends getting Rejected?
This could be down to 2 main reasons.
Reason 1 : Poor Documentation
As ICA receives thousands of applications monthly, before anything else, proper documentation is key. Illegible handwriting, incomplete information, lacking the right documents are some of the common reasons why up to 90% of rejections occur – simply down to poor documentation. Such application which not even make it to the next phase of the process, which is the Reviewing phase.
Reason 2 : The Applicant is not a right fit at point of submission.
Other factors weighing the merits of applicants (Age, Industry, Income, Social Integration etc) comes into play once they have passed the documentation phase of the application process. In this Reviewing phase, policy makers analyse each application to determine the type and nature of talent required. To understand fully what and how this work, it is best that serious applicants attend a free consultation with us so that a proper analysis of your profile can be done.
